Dreamshaper is the most generalistic checkpoint, the second best at everything and only falls behind for anime pictures.
It knows ALL the styles and concepts; from a traditional japanese woodprinting of an armored camel to realistic celebrities riding a dragon, there is nothing DreamShaper can't do, making it the only must-have checkpoint.
It is also a solid choice for Model training (I use it for realistic models). The downside is that specialized checkpoint outperforms it (but not by much).
You don't need special prompts, it is the easiest checkpoint to use, and works very very well with all the settings you can imagine.
A XL version is available, and I suggest you have a look at the author models,
