Ghostmix is one the most popular checkpoint for anime pictures. It was used way more often during the past year. Mid-2023, when the AI pictures flood really began, I am pretty sure more than 50% of the anime pictures were generated
using this checkpoint and ADetailer. The others were generated with Counterfeit...
It became iconic of AI and unfortunately also associated with the poorly generated images at the time (I am guilty too!). As a result, it was less and less used but remains a solid choice.
A version 2.0 is available since february and a Stable Diffusion XL one was just released on Civitai.
This checkpoint is made for anime pictures and doesn't perform well elsewhere. It works well with suggestive pictures and hentai.
As usual it is mostly trained on waifu and generating men is lacking.
Ease of Use
Quick to get started, you will only need a few generations
Prompt understanding
Better with a tag based prompt and weights. Quickly limited when trying to venture outside of the usual waifu pictures
Versatility
Very good for anime, lackluster for other styles
